Angst Hall

Located on the prominent southwest corner of the Mount Vernon campus of Skagit Valley College, the new Angst Hall is the initial step in a multi-year campus development program whose goal is to bring the quality of campus facilities in line with the quality of education provided by the College. Facilities serving health programs include labs for nursing, anatomy and physiology, medical assistant, medical administration, pharmacy, radiology, and hemodialysis. The building also provides classrooms and labs for the physical sciences including astronomy, biology, chemistry, environmental conservation and physics. Two fully-interactive distance learning classrooms give students the ability to connect to an extended learning environment with other colleges and universities throughout the State.

The design of Angst Hall responds to its context as well as its many roles: as a symbol for the entire college and the larger local community, as a new element in an evolving ensemble of campus buildings, as a place of teaching, learning and interacting, and as an example of the College’s commitment to environmental stewardship. Located on a prominent site where the college and community first connect, Angst Hall seeks to be a gateway to the college, acting both as a beacon to the community and visual anchor to the college.

Skagit Valley College is committed to demonstrate its core value of sustainability through its facilities, operations, curriculum, and activities and demonstrates this commitment through Angst Hall and its impact on the quality of campus life for students and employees.
