Panther Lake Elementary School opens young minds to exploring intersecting aspects of their lives and community. By challenging assumptions about educational programming and design, and redefining the nature of boundaries traditionally placed between building and environment, the design of this school creates a uniquely “green” condition: A connection of dualities. A sharing of exploration between client and designer. A juncture of learning that intertwines people and nature, urban and wild, order and outburst, indoors and outdoors, endurance and adaptation, “reality” and aspiration.
